amihlapinatapai, (mam-ehlap-in-atta-pie) literally "the shared unspoken desire", is a Yaghan word that I totally stole from this article on Cracked. I thought it was a beautiful word and I decided to use it to celebrate a certain relationship I had with a fellow herpetophile that I really thought was going to be "the one". Of course, if you've read the page for this painting then I'm sure you know how THAT ONE turned out. That watercolor was given away, the current whereabouts of which I could care less of. This drawing right here, though, I just never finished and I have no plans to do so... as you can see it's digitally signed with an OCR of my name, I didn't even bother to sign this one.
couldn't bring myself to trash it because even though it means literally nothing to me now it just looks so... beautiful to me. In a very depressing way I might add, but still a wonderful perma-WIP nonetheless. I finished most of the two dragons' heads and in the empty space above them I had plans to depict what they were thinking, both of which were romantic encounters with lots of love. The thoughts are missing completely from the picture, but I'd imagine I got down the "shared desire" emotion in their eyes, even though those are uncolored and unfinished as well. Even with the drawing so substantially unfinished you can still tell what it's about.
