Thank you for your interest in commissioning me for your ideas! On this page you will find an in-depth FAQ about the nature of my work, what I do, what I won't do, and other odds and ends. If you have a question not covered on this page don't hesitate to send me an email!

Q: You said you do your best work in "your niche". What is "your niche"?
A: Every artist has a niche. Mine just so happens to be a special affinity for feral animals of the reptile, dragon, dinosaur, and cetacean variety. Themes and genres I specialize in include zoophilia, science fiction, and general fantasy (some medieval and magic, etc). In terms of kinks there's quite a list of likes and dislikes, you can find a link to my F-List profile in the next question to help give you a more complete answer, but my general kink/fetish themes - zoophilia aside - involve transformations, symbiotes, oviposition, tentacles, and goo/slime. This is where I feel I am my strongest as a writer; but that's not to say I won't attempt anything outside my circle of comfort, though.

Q: What subjects/kinks do you consider "too hot"?
A: There are a few generalized topics I do not touch when it comes to commissions. These include: anything involving bodily excrement ("watersports", scat, vomiting), cub or otherwise underage characters, hard vore or any act that is explicitly gory or violent, and anything involving torture and pain. For a more comprehensive list please consult my profile on F-List. For the column marked "NO" if you see something you like that wasn't explicitly mentioned as "definite no" then feel free to ask! It might just be something I'm not too well read on but open to the idea of and am willing to explore in your work.

Q: Do you accept commissions for copyrighted characters?
A: Yes, I do. I don't have any problems using a copyrighted character in a commissioned story (Spyro, Charizard, etc) but just to be safe have some links to pictures or a character bio in case I am not familiar with him/her.

Q: Can I commission you to create another installment/chapter for one of your stories?
A: This is a big "maybe". It depends on whether or not I'm planning on continuing the series and where it currently stands in my "to do list". For my personal works I do not accept changes or requests to alter the story universe or its characters but if you absolutely cannot wait for chapter X of a story I can place it on a higher priority if you wish to commission it from me (or you can wait until it would normally be completed for free).

Q: Why do you charge so much for your work?
A: In summary, writing is what I do to try and make a living. It is what I have done since the mid-1990's and I pride myself on being a competent and skilled writer. When you commission me you're not commissioning an amateur writer, you're securing yourself a piece of work from someone who is very passionate about the work they do. I've had my stories displayed as featured content on websites such as SoFurry and I've co-hosted writing panels at Further Confusion. The price you're paying for one of my stories is one of guaranteed quality. Please do not let the rates discourage you, writing is just as hard - if not harder - as drawing and if you look hard enough you'll find that the price to have a story from me or a drawing from a popular artist depicting the same scene are nearly identical!

Q: Will you accept an art trade instead of money for a commission?
A: This is heavily dependent on my financial situations at the time of your request as they fluctuate wildly. Just to be safe for the sake of this FAQ I am going to say "no", but there may be certain times when I'll be open for a trade.

Q: How do I pay you?
A: I accept payments via PayPal through a friend of mine who handles the money through his bank account (so it isn't some arbitrary number floating around online). PayPal is quick and easy to use (and moderately safe).

Q: How long will my commission take?
A: This is wholly dependent on the size of your order and my current work load. Assuming a full load I would give an estimate of 45 days just to throw a number out there. Shorter stories will of course take nowhere near as long but also understand that commissions placed before yours will have a higher priority for completion, especially large orders. Overtime and larger orders may take longer than 45 days, obviously.

Q: Will I be satisfied with the final product?
A: I certainly hope so, and to ensure that you're happy I will touch base with you on a weekly basis at least, perhaps even more frequently if I make large strides in progress. If you'd like to get samples and WIP's from me I would be more than happy to send them your way for feedback so the story unfolds in the way you want it to. After all, this is your idea and your fantasy, and I want to serve it to your specifications!

Q: Will you do a private commission?
A: Yes I can. A "private commission" is a story that may have personal significance to the commissioner that he or she doesn't want broadcast to the whole world (by default I will post commissioned stories to my site and online profiles and give commissioners the same permission). If you have a story idea that you want kept to yourself or between you and a romantic partner I can do a private commission for you. Your name and story title will not be shown on my workload page, instead you will be listed as "Private Commissioner: ##" and your story title will say "Private Commission".

Q: You have "no slots available", can I reserve a spot?
A: Yes! On my workload page it shows what I am currently working on, how many slots I have open, and then a section for a "Reserve List". This is a list of commissioners who want to buy a story from me but cannot because I have no slots open. The way it works is I will take reserves on a first come first serve basis and the moment I finish a commission I will take the first reserve from the list and contact that person and tell them that a slot has opened for them. It costs nothing to be on the waiting list and you can back out at any time, but progress will not begin on your commission until payment is received. If you are unable to pay that's no problem either, I will ask the next person in line and come back to yours when another slot opens.

Q: What is the "Overtime" option mentioned in your pricing?
A: "Overtime" is just a catch-all term for any commission ideas you may have that do not fit into my admittedly over-simplified rate structure. If you have an idea for an episodic series, a long story, or any other project that isn't covered by my pricing plan then please email me with your idea(s) so I can get an understanding for them and figure out about how much time I'll need to devote to them and how this will affect my existing commissions and such. If your idea fits into the "Overtime" category then its price will vary depending upon the amount of work required.

Q: What is "Comprehensive Proofreading" and how much does it cost?
A: I frequently proofread lots of peoples' stories for free by giving them a glancing over for common mistakes and grammar confusions but I don't usually go deeper than that. Basic proofreading in a sense. If you like, though, I can give your work a more fine-tuned reading and make notes of errors or other mistakes (either by using the Track Changes feature of MS Word or by making a new document to note mistakes). I charge a fixed rate per 100 words (as counted by MS Word) so there isn't a flat rate that is unfair on your end for short stories or too overwhelming on my end for long ones.

Q: May I cancel my commission if something comes up?
A: Yes and you will receive your funds back. If I haven't started on your story or if progress is nominal then you'll get the full amount back (less any fees that PayPal charges, if applicable). However if substantial progress has been made then for the sake of being marginally reimbursed for the time and effort spent a full refund is not possible, but I will certainly issue as much back to you as I feel is fair to both of us. Cancelations and refunds are something I will handle on a case-by-case basis. It's not exactly something I'd like to get into with anybody, as I do my best to satisfy, but I understand it is not unavoidable so I'm including this as part of my commissions FAQ just to show that I'm ready to deal with it if need be.
